R1 : The accreditation granted by the Ministry of Higher Education guarantees the recognition of the EPI diplomas and make them the equivalent of diplomas awarded by public universities.
R2 : Our educational project is adapted to the needs of companies that express themselves in terms of skills and know-how but also of human qualities and interpersonal skills.
Several companies in various sectors are already very interested and very enthusiastic following the creation of EPI Sousse. With the specter of modernity emerging in all economic sectors, innovative industrial enterprises increasingly need specialized engineers, young people with solid technical & scientific skills and strong practical methods of knowledge.
EPI training is therefore resolutely pointing towards the aspirations of the industrial sector. Bringing together the most experienced academic skills and the most dynamic players in the industry, EPI will be able to equip its students to facilitate their rapid professional integration. In addition to the contribution of professionals to the training of future engineers, within the school and in the company, as part of practical work and internships, industrialists will constantly contribute to the development of EPI training, as they are entitled to inspect and to make suggestions about the educational programs offered.
The different courses offered at EPI, by the quality of the educational programs and by the proximity of the industrial sector, will generate qualified engineers that meet the needs of recruiters locally and internationally.
R3 : The EPI promoters are academics, industrialists and experts in higher education and technology training.
R4 : The accreditation granted by the Ministry of Higher Education guarantees the conformity of the educational programs to the standards in force in the national public institutions. This compliance guarantee will remain in effect due to the regular and constant evolution of programs by the Ministry. In addition, the creation of EPI imposed certain simple, commonly accepted criteria. These later include the diversity of specialties offered, bridges between specialties, options provided at the end of the cycle, the location , adaptation of premises, equipment and materials used for technology training, competence and availability of the teaching team, organization and administrative management, professional integration and links with companies, the international curriculum and the selection of students.
These criteria and others were chosen to serve as foundations and references during the design and implementation of the EPI project and thus guarantee the most complete training possible in the best conditions.
R5 : The teaching staff of EPI is composed of permanent teachers (with career plan), engineers, experts and technical executives operating in the industrial and part-time teachers in public higher education (accredited by the relevant ministry).
R6 : The registration fees have been reviewed, in order to promote diversity of opportunity and social inclusion (see section "Registration fees").
R7 : EPI is a multidisciplinary engineering school with specialties in the fields of information and communication technologies, biosciences, civil engineering, textiles, electronics and mechanics. Its mission is to help train engineers and technical executives in initial and continuous training and to provide applied research and technology transfer activities.
EPI training is characterized by:
• Balanced training: technical sciences but also management sciences, communication (especially foreign languages), business creation… etc.
• Training mainly in contact hours, approximately 30 hours per week.
• An integrated preparation with a year of common core curriculum courses and a year of pre-specialization where you choose optional subjects according to the specialty desired.
• An engineering cycle with a uniform course in the first two years along with a strong specialization in the last year.
• An important place for practical work backed up by lessons and tutorials.
• Privileged contact with the professional community: visits to industries, meetings with professionals and field missions during internships.
• An educational team always available to listen, guide you and give you direction.
• A feeling of affiliation to a very strong academic promotion, during your training, you always study with the same students.
R8 : Tunisia has around 23,000 engineers (2009 estimate). The ratio is 2.2 engineers per 1000 inhabitants. This ratio reaches 4 for emerging countries and 10 for developed countries. The number of engineers currently trained (in public and private institutions) is around 3000 per year while the needs are estimated at 7000 of which a third in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Due to technological and economic requirements, engineers and technical executives, by their autonomy and flexibility, their creativity, their human relations and their sense of responsibility, will fill the void and find their places to meet the challenges imposed by sustainable development.
R9 : Following the accreditation of the Ministry of Higher Education, the engineering diplomas granted by EPI are equivalent to any national engineering diploma awarded by any public or private institution recognized by the ministry. Thus, obtaining the national engineering diploma from EPI enables its holder, if he wants, to continue his postgraduate studies (research Master or specialized Master) in all national or international institutions that allow it, if he meets the required integration criteria.
R10 : At EPI we prepare you to obtain the national engineering diploma and giving you a quick access and the best conditions for your professional fulfilment. But isn't this the vocation of any engineering school? Things are not that obvious.
At EPI we have a passion for teaching. It will be our pleasure to get to know our new students and to make their integration as smooth and easy as possible. We know that every student is different, that's why each student conducts an interview from his first day at school. This allows us to get to know you better so that we can better orient you. Our students are an integrant part of the EPI family from their first day: if you feel comfortable and relaxed, you progress faster.
R11 : R11: Holding a baccalaureate diploma from a scientific stream (mathematics, experimental sciences, technical sciences, computer sciences).
R12 : Holding a scientific or technical bachelor degree (License), a diploma obtained following technical studies in an ISET or a higher institute of applied sciences or an equivalent diploma.
R13 : Holding a scientific or technical master's degree, or an equivalent diploma obtained after 4 years of higher education.
R14 : The EPI offers evening classes in engineering. In this case, the duration of studies is longer and the diplomas obtained are, however, equivalent to the diplomas awarded following conventional day courses.
R15 : Absolutely. A foreign student can join EPI like any Tunisian student if he succeeds to meet the admission conditions and provides adequate financial resources to pay for his studies and accommodation in Tunisia.
R16 : The EPI promotes and develops exchanges between the actors of the school – students, teachers- and companies in order to meet the market expectations, while maintaining the academic education and the prospective aspect of training and research. Our partnership policy is welcomed, in its different forms, by many companies that collaborate with our school. Our partnerships cover collaborations in the field of continuing education, participation in teaching, communication and information for students. They allow companies and our school to better integrate the specificities and challenges of each other to build fruitful cooperation.
